Rules and Regulations - Open Events Open to ALL classes

 
Software Display

Number of Teams: Open | Number of Participants per team: 2

The students are required to submit original software created by them on the first day of the symposium i.e. on 18th December morning at the registration desk on CD/DVD along with well-formatted hardcopy of the synopsis and source code. Appropriate weightage will be given to the synopsis and the source code during the preliminary round. Maximum 6 schools shall be selected for the finals. No compiler will be provided during the event. All teams will be given a preliminary 5 minutes time (excluding time for interjections). Judges and Audience will both be allowed to interject. We will be providing a Standard P-IV Windows XP loaded (without internet) machine, if your software requires a higher configuration machine or require special software/hardware/internet support or more installation time, please bring your own machines.


Group Discussion

Number of Teams: 1 | Number of Participant per team: 1
Topic will be given on 18th December at the Registration Desk

Participants would be expected to look at the technical, commercial, legal and ethical sides of the motion.

Format: There will be an elimination round prior to the final and maximum eight participants would be chosen for the final round. The elimination round would consist of giving each participant a topic 10 minutes prior to their turn, and then 2 minutes to speak for/against the topic. There would be no rebuttals in the elimination round.


Robotics

Number of Teams: Open | Number of Participants per team: 2

The participants are expected to design an original micro controller based robot (using QBASIC, C++ or any assembly language) of any nature. All teams will be given a 10 minutes time (excluding time for interjections). Judges and Audience will both be allowed to interject. The participants are requested to bring own computer to demonstrate their robot.


Story Writing

Number of Teams: Open | Number of Participant per team: 1
Time Allowed : 60 Minutes

Get your pens ready, no computers for this 60 minute event. All you have to do is to write about the future as you see – build on our story. You will be provided with the opening and/or concluding paragraphs. The task of improvising the rest will be up to you. Anything and everything is allowed, you’ll be free to write whatever you want as long as it does or does not make sense. Be Funny, be Weird but above all, be Insane!

It should be made sure that participants do not register for any events that might clash. Judges' decisions are final for all events and all the rules are subject to change.
