CDLS 2007 :
Modern School, Barakhamba Road, New Delhi, INDIA is organizing its Second International Summit on ‘Community Development & Leadership’ (CDLS2007) from Sunday 28th, October to Thursday 8th, November 2007.
The participants in CDLS2007 will include delegations from China, Malaysia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, USA and India. Each contingent will comprise of 4 students preferably 2 boys and 2 girls from Senior Secondary or/and Secondary grades along with 1 accompanying teacher. It is expected that the ideas exchanged during the summit will empower students to understand the role of leadership in community development. One of the greatest contributions that education can make is to help evolve a society that has young adults with big dreams for their community and country. We wish to make the difference.
The participants and visiting teachers will be staying in our school boarding house. The participants will also be given an opportunity to enjoy home stay with our students to get an insight into the culture and values of the Indian community.
Besides numerous seminars and workshops conducted by well known personalities from their respective fields and areas, the participants will also be taken for Local sightseeing and a trip to Taj Mahal at Agra. All expenses inclusive of lodging, boarding and activities related to the summit will be borne by the host school.

Kirandeep Kaur of Modern School, Barakhamba Road has been selected as a fellow in Science stream under KVPY (Kishore Vaigyaink Protsahan Yojana) for 2006. The scholarship amount is Rs.2000/- per month at school level, Rs.4000/- per month at undergraduate level and Rs.5000/- per month at post graduate level.

Aritra Guha, Raghav Goyal, Isha Trakru of Class XI won the First Prize in the Science Symposium held at Carmel Convent School on the topic DNA Fingerprinting.
Modern School, Barakhamba Road has been invited in AYLS to be held in Singapore.
Modern School, Barakhamba Road has been invited to be one of the pioneer participants in the inaugural Asian Young Leader Summit (AYLS) to be held in Singapore from 17-28 July,2006.
The aim of AYLS is to create a high profile platform for elite students leader from China, Japan, India And Singapore to network with them counterparts during the summit and to build social and political awareness among the future leader of Asia.
Following students have been selected from Class XII to participate in the same.

Kirandeep Kaur selected as a fellow in Science stream under KVPY
The Kishore Vaigyaink Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, awards fellowships to young students to encourage them to pursue research careers in Science, engineering and medicine.
KVPY fellows are carefully selected from a large number of candidates from all over India, following a rigorous process of filtering, written test and interviews.
