96th Founder’s Day Celebrated at Modern School Barakhamba Road With Fanfare, Panache
Modern School Barakhamba Road celebrated its 96th Founder’s Day on November 13, 2016. His Excellency VP Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Mr Ashok Pratap Singh, President, Board of Trustees, Modern Schools, Mr S. Y. Quraishi, Chairman, Modern School, Barakhamba Road and other members of the Board of Trustees graced the celebrations with their presence.
The programme commenced with the Guard of Honour for the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest also inaugurated the historic Vijayanta tank which was used in the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pakistan wars. This is a new addition in the campus of Modern School. Creativity of students was on display in ‘My Space’ which was appreciated by all the guests and the parents.
The highlight of the celebration was the ballet on Shiva, which involved participation of 199 students and showcased the different facets of Shiva in all his glory. The students also presented a beautiful Bharatnatyam performance which mesmerised the audience.
Dr Vijay Datta, the Principal in his annual report showcased the performance of the students in various academic, co-curricular and sports activities. He also mentioned that the School had been awarded the best boarding cum day school in the country in the field of sports and leadership.
Mr Ashok Pratap Singh, President, Board of Trustees, Modern Schools in his speech lauded the momentous journey of the students and the school. The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks.
