Modern Crowned King at Mayo Football Tournament!

The Football Team of Modern School Barakhamba Road was crowned the indisputable king at the Mayo Football Tournament as they lifted the team trphy under the captaincy of Himanshu Minocha. The Mayo Football Tournament was held from 29th August- 2 September at Mayo College, Ajmer. In the run up to the final, the team defeated Assam Valley School by 3-1 and drew 1-1 against Pathways School Noida in the group stage. Thereby, topping the group via goal difference. The team defeated RMS, Ajmer in the quarter finals by 2-0 and then the Mayur School, Ajmer 3-0 in the semi-final to reach the finals of the tournament. They beat the defending champions and host school, Mayo College, Ajmer in the final, 1-0, with Ghazi shah scoring the winning goal in the first 10 minutes of the match. After which, the team defended the lead brilliantly throughout a tough match.

Other glorious achievements of the team in the tournament were the titles of ‘Best Player of the Semi-Final’ and the ‘Best Player of the Finals’ won by Ghazi Shah and Kanishk Bhan respectively and Bhuvnesh Malla was bestowed with the title of ‘The Wall of the Tournament’ !
