Report on Modern School Barakhamba Road Band Performance at the National War Memorial

On the solemn occasion of NCC Day, the Bagpipe Band of Modern School, Barakhamba Road, delivered a stirring and heart-felt performance at the National War Memorial, New Delhi. The cadets stood proud beside the eternal flames, paying tribute to India’s brave martyrs with music that rose in honour of sacrifice, unity, and national pride.
The chief guests for the event were the Defence Secretary of India, Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh, and the Director General of NCC, Lieutenant General Virendra Vats. Their presence added gravitas and dignity to the commemoration, underscoring the institutional importance of the occasion.
Led by ANO Nitish Singh Chandela, the band included the following cadets: Lavyansh Taank (S3G), Hussain Ahmed (S3I), Shehzan Siddiqui (S3I), Animesh Das (S3G), Parikshit Bhagat (S3A), Aarav Choudhary (S3D), Vivaan Dhawan (S4B), Avviral Gupta (S4B), Uday Goyal (S4G), Reyansh Tiwari (S4G), Jayash Kayat (S4D), Divyansh Sharma (S4D), Vihaan Malik (S4C), Tanmay Dewan (S4C), Laksh Goyal (S4D), Kiaan Kohli (S4F), Shiven Ichpilani (S4F), and Nishchey Choudhary (S6H).
With poise, discipline, and musical finesse, the band performed patriotic classics — most notably “Saare Jahan Se Accha” and “Vande Mataram” — weaving them with other melodious bagpipe tunes. The haunting sound of the pipes, accompanied by percussion and marching cadence, filled the air with an aura of reverence and national strength.
Their performance did more than entertain — it honoured the memory of our soldiers, reminding all present of the sacrifices made for freedom. The cadets’ dedication and synchrony stood as a testament to the training, discipline, and spirit cultivated by Modern School, reinforcing the ethos of service, unity, and pride.
This musical tribute, framed by the presence of senior defence leadership, made NCC Day 2025 truly memorable — a day when youth, duty, and patriotism came together in a harmonious salute to the nation.
