Online Classes
Due to the unprecedented situation across the world and our country, we were unable to have regular classes. To ensure that the students remain abreast with the syllabus and the academic calendar, Modern School was one of the first schools to start with online classes. The teachers were trained by experts of various online platforms like Google, Zoom and Microsoft, the school decided to go ahead with the Microsoft Teams to connect with the students. Regular time table is being followed since Saturday, 25th March 2020 for classes Xth and Xllth being the board classes. For classes VIth,VIIth,VIIIth and IXth the online classes began from Wednesday,1st April 2020.
Online classes have become quite popular with the students and teachers alike during these times.

Flagging off – Centenary Celebrations
Modern School est. in 1920 by Lala Raghubir Singh ji, flagged-off its Centenary Celebrations on 21st October 2019.
The event witnessed distinguished guests in attendance. The Chief Guest for the occasion was, Ms Ketaki Sood, President, Board of Trustees, Modern Schools. The event was also graced with the presence of Col. Vijay Chadda, Chairman Managing Committee, Modern School, Barakhamba Road, Ms Anuradha Pratap Singh, Senior Trustee, Board of Trustees, Modern Schools, Ms Mira Pradeep Singh, Treasurer, Board of Trustees, Modern Schools, Principal Dr Vijay Datta, Mr Sunder Hemrajani, Member, Board of Trustees, Modern Schools and Mr Vinit Sahai Sarin, President, Modern School Old Students’ Association and other dignitaries. The occasion began with the hoisting of Centenary Flag of Modern School at the Front Lawns. The horse riders of the school cantered along and presented a standing salute, signifying the school’s commitment to take greater strides in times to come. The students sang the school song “Balvaan Bano” written by Shri Ved Vyas, former Hindi teacher and first Principal of Modern School, Vasant Vihar and set to music by Ustad Amjad Ali
Khan, a Modernite.
The procession of students tracing the March of the students in 1920 from 24 Daryaganj to Barakhamba Road was led by the eminent guests and students from the front lawns to the Shankar Lal Hall in reminiscence of that historic moment. The Principal, Dr Vijay Datta adressed the gathering and recounted the ideals on which Modern School was founded by Lala Raghubir Singh. He also elaborated on the achievements of school students over the years.
The cultural programme celebrated the spirit of Modern School, reliving the proud moments of the school, i.e. Visit by Mahatama Gandhi and Rabindranath Tagore. The Chief Guest, Ms Ketaki Sood, President, Board of Trustees, Modern Schools, shared her invaluable thoughts with the audience pertaining to Modern School. The programme ended with a ‘Vote of Thanks’ delivered by Col. Vijay Chadda, Chairman, Managing Committee, Modern School, Barakhamba Road.

CENTENARY SPORTS DAY
The grounds of Modern School Barakhamba Road witnessed an atmosphere of bonhomie and camaraderie as all the sister schools viz Modern School, Vasant Vihar, Modern School, Kundli, Modern School, Faridabad and Raghubir Singh Junior Modern School came together to celebrate the Centenary Sports Day in the presence of the Cricket legend Kapil Dev who was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Other dignitaries included Ms Ketaki Sood, President, Board of Trustees, Modern Schools, Ms Ambika Pant, Secretary, Board of Trustees, Ms Meera Pradeep Singh, Col Vijay Chadha, Chairman, School Management Committee, MVC Col Sonam Wangchuk, Principal Dr Vijay Datta, Heads of sister Modern Schools – Meenakshi Sahni, Ms Manju Rajput, Ms Neetu Blest, Ms Aabha Sadana and other eminent guests.
The day was filled with excitement as all the sister schools participated in the March Past, different races and presented drills which emphasized the importance of sports. The day began with the welcome of the guests followed by Flag Hoisting of the Centenary flag which was done in a most wonderful manner by the horsemen from Modern School Barakhamba Road.
The students of RSJMS put up a wonderful Gymnastic Display, while the students from Barakhamba danced their way to good health in a foot thumping display of Jazzercise. The students of Kundli and Faridabad presented Zumba and Aerobics while those from Modern Vasant Vihar put up a display on Self-Defence.
The event which stole the show was a magnificent Horse Show by the young equestrians of Modern School Barakhamba who enthralled the audience with a brilliant display of horsemanship as they exhibited the standing salute and tent pegging to the audience.
