Independence Day 2019

Modern School, Barakhamba Road, celebrated the 73rd Independence Day on 9th August 2019, in Sir Shankar Lal Hall. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, VM, ADC- Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee and Chief of the Air Staff.

The occasion was also graced with presence of Mr Ashok Pratap Singh, Senior Trustee, Modern Schools, Col. Vijay Chadda, Chairman, Managing Committee, Modern School, Barakhamba Road, Ms Ambika Pant, Secretary, Board of Trustees, Modern Schools, Air Vice MarshalSanjeev Kapoor and other dignitaries. The function officially commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony, where the Chief Guest — Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa along with our Principal Dr Vijay Datta, unfurled our nation’s greatest symbol of pride, the Tricolour, into a shower of rose petals. The Chief Guest appreciated the exhibition displayed by the students learning Graphics at school. The exhibition dedicated to Indian patriotic sentiment, showcased the prowess of students and their unmatched talent.

The Principal, Dr Vijay Datta, formally introduced the Chief Guest and delivered an enlightening talk reminiscing the lives of brave Modernites who were martyred during the call of duty. The highlight of the occasion was the ballet Roopak – “Youngistaan Chuegaa Aasmaan,” consisting scintillating dance performances by the students which instilled rousing patriotism in the audience. The esteemed Chief Guest congratulated everyone for a stellar performance and shared his wisdom with the audience. Mr Ashok Pratap Singh, Senior Trustee, Modern Schools, also shared his invaluable thoughts with everyone. The function witnessed fervent enthusiasm and commemorated the undying love for the motherland.
